Are you talking about TVOne which is now in the testing area on ch.990.

Sorry for any confusion. TVOne showed up since I originally posted my question. It is on 990 on my Cox Cable Box. TEST is on 861 and lists various movies throughout the day. Guess the new question(s) are (a) what is being tested on 861 (a new movie channel?) and (b) what is TVOne.

TV One is a television network based in Silver Spring, Maryland and primarily owned by Radio One and Comcast Corporation. It targets African American adults with a broad range of programming. The network airs original lifestyle and entertainment-oriented shows, movies, fashion and music programming, as well as classic series such as Amen, Good Times, Living Single, Martin, The Parent 'Hood and All of Us.

TV One is available in over 38 million homes [1] via DirecTV, Comcast, Cox, Charter, Time Warner Cable, Insight, and other smaller, regional cable operators.

To note their is no HD Signal of TV One, When it comes to ch.861 no one has answer to what is.

You would be correct on the other fourm it's been talked about Cox would add
Nat Geo en Espanol SD on Channel 419 (Paquete Latino Tier - 323)
Fox Soccer Channel HD
Outdoor Channel HD
All three (3) coming in the 1st Quarter of 2010. Credit to SonyHDTVGuyAZ
Went down to my local Cox store couple days ago to see what can we expect with any New HD channels, they can only confirm was is written above and how they have finished the upgrade to the entire state and how they still are playing catch up with the HD channels in my area. However i was told to expect a new movie channel later on this year in which we would have to pay for, she did not say which movie channel but HDNet and Epix HD are the most likely.

I saw a test channel for the HD version of the Mountain West channel over the weekend. I can't imagine it being worth much until football season, if that.

Coming on April 1

Channel 795 Epix Channel (Epix HD is a premium movie channel from Viacom Inc., Paramount Pictures, MGM and Lionsgate)

OnDemand Vutopia (Vutopia is a new On Demand movie service available to digital movie tier subscribers at no additional charge)
at this time, it is expected that Vutopia will not provide High Definition programming.

I was also advised that Cox CSR's will be provided with updated information about the new IPG on 4/17. Check back then.

new IPG?

Tivo and COX:

Does anyone have any information on this link?
http://www.tivo.com/products/source/index.html
Choose Cable TV, then COX in the drop down menu, and scroll down below the two Tivo HD receivers.

"In the works… Cox cable DVRs with TiVo service
TiVo's downloadable software will allow Cox to deliver the TiVo® service in Cox subscriber homes without replacing existing DVR boxes, and without an install appointment. In this way, current Cox DVR customers who wish to enjoy the award-winning TiVo service will quickly and easily add the benefits of TiVo to their DVR subscription. Check back here for updates."

UPDATE:

nevermind, old news

Wow. That update link was from 2010.

Hopefully we will get a new guide in April.

I saw an add on the cox website where a person had a completely different remote control than the one cox currently uses. Just putting that out there since there is hardly anything new to talk about these days.

Cox is currently testing the following channels (in Scottsdale):

641 - TEST (links to OnDemand - Eddie on Demand)
642 - TEST (links to OnDemand - Badger Springs)

831 - TEST (Infomercial channel)
861 - TEST (restricted)

I love to see testing, usually results in new channels

Interesting that they are playing around with OnDemand, any change to that menu system would be an improvement.

Per Cox CSR: While we plan on launching 25 channels in 2010, we do not have specific information yet on which channels will be added.

Well, that's good news.
I've been hoping for ESPNews HD and ESPNU HD.

truTV, HLN, and the Weather Channel are really the only channels left in the 3-70 range (other than the spanish stations) that aren't carried by COX in HD also.

Even if a large number are premimum movie channels, that still leaves a nice chunk of regular channels, assuming they don't pick up random channels like The Mountain HD (which I came across on 640 over the weekend again, now gone).

A few duplicates (CMT HD, VH1 HD, etc) showed up on 970-975 last night in Tempe, so I wonder if we're getting some new ones in the next week or two?

Here's a list I found of cable networks in HD:
